The project improved access to education, boosted students' self-esteem, and fostered regular school attendance. Through collaboration with school administrators and community leaders, the initiative promoted equity in education and created a more inclusive learning environment where every student had the opportunity to succeed.
2. Njewa Community Face Mask Distribution Initiative

In partnership with the 2021 cohort of Mandela Washington Fellows, Touch of Hope led an initiative to support health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic by distributing face masks to students and staff at Njewa Community Day Secondary School. The project aimed to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and promote health awareness, providing essential protective equipment to those in need. In addition to mask distribution, the initiative included awareness sessions on proper mask usage and hygiene practices. The project enhanced safety, promoted community health, strengthened partnerships, and addressed inequalities in access to protective resources, making a meaningful impact on the well-being of the community during the pandemic.
