Projects Implemented in 2019
1. Student Support Program at Chisiyo Primary School

In 2019, Touch of Hope launched a support program for 60 students at Chisiyo Primary School, addressing educational barriers and fostering personal growth. Collaborating with school leadership, we identified vulnerable students, including those with disabilities, and matched them with volunteers who provided mentorship, regular check-ins, and tailored assistance. Each student received essential learning materials, such as textbooks and writing supplies, to enhance their academic engagement. The program emphasized inclusivity, ensuring students with disabilities received specialized resources and support. By fostering collaboration among parents, teachers, and volunteers, we created a strong network of care that promoted well-being and educational success. This initiative empowered students by boosting their confidence, alleviating financial pressures on families, and cultivating an environment where every child, regardless of background or ability, could thrive and envision a brighter future.
2. Vocational Skills Scholarship Program for Youth

In 2019, Touch of Hope launched a vocational scholarship program for 10 youth from Chakhoma Village, providing them with practical training in phone and electronics repair through a partnership with Luptech Malawi. The initiative equipped participants with high-demand skills and start-up toolkits, enabling them to begin their careers independently or start small businesses. Beyond technical training, the program fostered community support and mentorship, empowering the youth to achieve independence and economic stability. The initiative reduced unemployment, brought valuable technical services to the community, and instilled confidence in the participants by offering them a pathway to sustainable livelihoods. By promoting skill development and self-reliance, this program highlighted Touch of Hope's commitment to building resilient and empowered communities.
